Anselm started following Installationspfade / Installation paths

Danke im Voraus, Anselm Hello, I have just installed MediaWiki and have hardly any experience with it yet. (However, I have been active in Wikipedia since 2004.) The paths seem strange to me. Example: https://www.domain.tld/mediawiki/index.php/Benutzer:Admin. I would expect: https://www.domain.tld/mediawiki/Benutzer:Admin. Is this OK or wrong, and how can I fix it if necessary? Thanks in advance, Anselm Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

I have an existing wiki at version 1.23.2 which no longer runs as my ISP has moved on the minimum version of php supported to 7.x I'm installing mediawiki 1.41.0 along-side this, but will need to migrate my old data. What's the easiest way to do this? I'm currently transferring all the new files over via FTP but not sure what the next step is to either just point the new wiki to the old database, or (if the databases are incompatible) how to migrate the data over to a new database of the required format. Also what about images? Any help appreciated.

How to display the new page you created in the left table of contents menu? Now the home page is displayed but other pages are not. Thanks!

I had the same problem. The solution was to change to /usr/share/mediawiki/maintenance and call php runScript.php update.php Then the wiki worked again after the upgrade from Debian 11 to Debian 12.

Anselm started following Confirm e-mail address
-
Hello, I have installed MediaWiki 1.41.0 and still have little experience with it. I would like to confirm the e-mail address. I tried once to confirm my email address (authentication), but it didn't work for some unknown reason. When I try again (days later), I get the message: "A confirmation code has already been sent to you by e-mail. If you have only recently created your account, please wait a few more minutes for the email before requesting a new code." How can I successfully complete the authentication process? If this is already described somewhere, a link will suffice. Thanks in advance and best regards, Anselm

Hello everyone, After the user has logged in, the user is not logged in, but no error appears either. After the installation it did'nt work because it came up with a certain error where I had to change this line from 32 to 24 in the sessionmanager.php: public static function validateSessionId( $id ) { return is_string( $id ) && preg_match( '/^[a-zA-Z0-9_-]{24,}$/', $id );} I came across this via Google. Now everything works, but when i tryed to login, somehow it does not remember it. My current versions are Apache/2.4.37 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.2p PHP/7.0.33 Cliëntversie van database: libmysql - mysqlnd 5.0.12-dev - 20150407 PHP-uitbreiding: mysqliDocumentatie curlDocumentatie mbstringDocumentatie PHP-versie: 7.0.33 Who knows to solve this problem?

Am I the only one that is annoyed with this message? How would you like for Windows to send an alert every time you press "Return"? "Congratulations, you pressed Return" I mean, really? I click on "Save Changes" then get a message that I clicked on Save Changes? Even AOL stopped saying "You've got mail" every time your inbox receives spam. How do I stop this?

Novice user here... The text font in my Wiki starts out fine, but on some of the pages the font is bold. And a different color. I've already searched for an unclosed <b>, and the change effects the whole page. Any tips to find this would be appreciated. I seem to recall that there is a .css somewhere that controls how everything looks.

I have a large wiki with a lot of pages, many of which are stale. I want to apply custom CSS to each link based on the age of the page it links to. I have been digging into the source code of MediaWiki, and for each link, I can get the DBKey starting from a LinkTarget. See the source code here. I am looking for a process which is essentially: $dbKey = $target->getDBkey(); $page = find_page_by_title($dbKey); $last_revision = get_last_revision($page); // Additional processing based on the date of $last_revision Alternatively, if there is a way to fetch this information from the API, I could add a JS snippet to recolor the links. Could anyone point me at resources I could look at to do this?

Hello, We have an international wiki at https://helminthictherapywiki.org/wiki/Helminthic_Therapy_Wiki. Our site has ongoing issues, mostly around disappearing images and pdfs. They frequently disappear and generally reappear randomly. At the moment they're all gone. The wiki is several years old and we have never had a professional administrator except someone who helped us set it up originally and a person lately who has been maintaining updates. We consider the information in this Wiki to be critically important to people suffering from certain medical conditions and we have thousands of current users who utilize it for information about their self treatment, as well as the most credible source of information for those researching the subject. We believe we need a truly qualified expert to analyze our site and correct any structural defects so that we can continue to provide this service into the foreseeable future. For instance, we have heard that the multiple redirects of our home page is an issue. We are not system engineers and there may be other defects we are not aware of. Can you help us identify and correct these things in order to be able to provide a quality, smoothly functioning wiki? Thank you for your time and attention. Laurel
